Enrolling in Autism Programs

Enrolling in Center-Based Autism Programs with Haugland is a simple process with just a few steps.

Enrolling in Autism programs.
If you plan to use a scholarship to pay for services at Haugland, we will provide you with the necessary application forms during the enrollment process.

Center-Based Programs

1 - ATTEND PRESENTATION

These are conducted at all locations by appointment; please call (614) 401-5388 to schedule. Family members and professionals are welcome to attend.

Prospective students are encouraged to visit after the parents have participated in a tour and/or presentation. Other services, such as mental health and home respite will be presented and discussed at this time as well.

Generally, the journey begins with enrollment in one of our center-based programs and then other services are added, based on need and availability.

Applications are available for enrolling in Autism programs at tours or by request; call (614) 401-5388 to obtain an electronic version or hard copy.

Application requirements include the completed application, a $50 application fee, and the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

2 - APPLY

Other helpful documentation, if available, includes the most recent Multi-factored Evaluation (MFE), IEP Progress Report, grade report, standardized testing results, behavioral plans/reports, diagnostic work and/or progress reports, if any, from a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, or behavioral specialist.

Send all applications along with the IEP and application fee, if required, to our administrative building at 3400 Snouffer Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43235 (attention: Brent).

3 - INTERVIEW

If you plan to use a scholarship to pay for services at Haugland, we will provide you with the necessary application forms during the enrollment process. Once we receive your completed Haugland application, we will contact you to set up an interview with you and your child. Start dates are determined by space availability, funding agreement finalization, and the completion of support staff placement, if needed.

Enrolling in Autism programs.
The Consultant provides ongoing supervision of the program and will act as the point of contact for the parents and Haugland regarding all matters pertaining to the program

Home-Based Programs

Enrolling in Home-Based Autism programs for the home (aka Outreach) involves the following steps:

1 - APPLY

Applications are available for enrolling in Autism programs by request; call (614) 602-6475 to obtain an electronic version or hard copy.

Application requirements include the completed application, a $50 application fee, and the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Other helpful documentation, if available, includes the most recent Multi-factored Evaluation (MFE), IEP Progress Report, grade report, standardized testing results, behavioral plans/reports, diagnostic work and/or progress reports, if any, from a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist, or behavioral specialist.

2 - MEET WITH CONSULTANT

Haugland sends a Consultant to meet with the parents to determine goals, current levels of performance, deficits, etc.

3 - THE PLAN

The Consultant creates a general plan for the program and discusses funding and staffing options.

4 - THE DOCUMENTATION

The Consultant presents any necessary documentation and/or materials) to the parents for approval (or revision, if necessary).

5 - THE SIGN OFF

Once the plan is finalized, the parent will sign off on the plan and the program will begin within two to three weeks.

The Consultant provides ongoing supervision of the program and will act as the point of contact for the parents and Haugland regarding all matters pertaining to the program.
